Elevate Counselling

Professional 1-to-1 Therapy in Bristol & South Gloucestershire

Welcome to Elevate Counselling

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, unpredictable, or heavy. Having a confidential, calm, and non-judgmental space to talk things through can make all the difference.

I am Ben Reynolds, a fully qualified counsellor holding an FdA in Counselling awarded by Bath Spa University and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I practice strictly in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

At the very core of my practice is a person-centred approach—I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to offer a warm, empathetic, and safe environment where you feel truly heard. Because everyone is unique, I take an integrative approach, meaning I blend my person-centred foundation with other therapeutic modalities like Gestalt, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and psychodynamic techniques, adapting flexibly to whatever suits your individual needs.

How Elevate Counselling Works: Structure & Independent Practice

Elevate Counselling operates proudly under the Elevate Wellbeing Group umbrella, sharing a unified vision, brand values, and a deep commitment to our local community.

However, to ensure complete clinical independence and confidentiality:

While mentoring services are provided through Elevate Wellbeing Group Ltd, Elevate Counselling operates as an independent private practice managed directly by me as a self-employed sole trader.

When you book private therapy, you contract directly with me.

This structure enables me to offer specialised private mental health support while keeping your clinical care legally distinct and entirely confidential from the mentoring company.

A Personal Note

Having worked extensively as a youth mentor, my goal is to provide an affordable, safe, and compassionate space for young people and the people around them when life gets overwhelming.

Having worked extensively on the ground as a youth mentor, I specialise in supporting young people as they navigate challenging life transitions and the pressures of education. There is so much going on during these formative years—from academic stress and social expectations to figuring out identity, independence, and the future—and it can easily become overwhelming. My aim is to give young people a safe, dedicated place to talk openly without judgment, where they can slow things down and process what they are carrying.

Beyond this, I’ve also observed the heavy toll that supporting families takes on parents and carers who are trying their absolute best in difficult circumstances, often at the expense of their own mental health. My goal is to provide a truly affordable, compassionate space for young people and the people around them when life gets difficult.

Specialising in working with Students & Young People

Navigating school, sixth form, college, university, or trying to find your feet when you are out of mainstream education brings an immense amount of pressure. It is completely normal to feel lost, uncertain about your direction, or overwhelmed by what comes next during these formative years. I specialise in supporting students and young people through:

  • Academic stress, burnout, and exam anxiety.

  • Feeling lost, uncertain about the future, or navigating life outside of education.

  • Navigating identity, independence, and major life transitions.

  • Managing emotional regulation, self-esteem, and daily overwhelm.

Professional Boundaries & Ethical Commitment

To protect therapeutic boundaries and fully adhere to BACP ethical guidelines regarding dual relationships, Elevate Counselling cannot provide private therapy to parents, carers, or family members of young people currently engaged in mentoring through Elevate Wellbeing Group Ltd. This ensures complete confidentiality, impartiality, and a safe, independent space for your therapy.
